About Thurston Elementary

Thurston Elementary School is one of 12 elementary schools within the Springfield Public Schools district.

At Thurston Elementary School, we strive to create a safe, fun flexible and connected community where we meet everyone where they are and help them grow.
 
Thurston Elementary School has had deep roots in our community since 1950. Our school is surrounded by tree-lined hills and views from nearly every window in the building. Along with our beautiful setting, we are lucky to have strong support from our families and community members. Our active parent group, helps support activities and enrichment opportunities throughout the school year. Our dedicated staff are committed to providing meaningful learning experiences with a caring, respectful environment. Students are at the heart of everything we do.

School Hours

Regular School Hours (All K-5 Students)
School begins each day at 8:35 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m. for breakfast) and dismissal is at 2:50 p.m.

Early Release School Hours (All K-5 Students)
School begins each day at 8:35 a.m. (doors open at 8 a.m. for breakfast) and dismissal is at 12:30 p.m.

Office Hours

• On school days, the office opens at 8 a.m. and closes at 4 p.m.
• On days that students are not in school but the staff are present the office is open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
• On other days, the office is closed, except by appointment.
